“I grew up watching Drake and Josh. Big fan back in the day as a kid. The autobiography outlines different parts of his life. For example, he had a bad weight issue growing up and had very low self-esteem, and that had affected different love avenues of his life. He lost weight when he was 18 or 19 and he turned to drugs as a means of coping. He would come to work and auditions while drug intoxicated or hungover from the previous night. He was actually cast in the movie Superbad. But he kept coming to work everyday pretty much fucked up so they cut him from the movie. He’s in a better place now. He has a wife and a kid now. He’s auditioning for a Christopher Nolan movie. He’s come a long way since his early 20s. I believe he’s in a better place mentally and adapted. There was a time when he thought he had to be the macho, alpha guy in movies to overcompensate for what he was in the past like the “fat comedian.” He sabotaged a lot of movie roles because of this like in Red Dawn. He’s come full circle now accepting the comedian character in him. I myself too think back and of course have thoughts of how I could’ve been a better person. But the person you were back then was a foundation of who you are now. It’s important to love yourself at each point in life.”
